best day of my life (so far)
Today I met Taking Back Sunday, my favorite band since I cared enough about music to HAVE a favorite band. It was absolutely amazing. They did a listening party and meet and greet type thing at the Whitehorse Tavern in Allston, MA. It was at noon, on a thursday, in Allston, at a bar. So there was only like 15 people there, making it super awkward but also wicked awesome. I almost had to go by myself because Ash and Kristen both had work, but I went with this girl Joanne from my Payroll job, so that was good, since if I was by myself I’d probably get so nervous I’d just leave and regret it for the rest of my life. I’m glad I went to this one instead of the one at Fan Pier because I bet there was wayyyy more people there, so good life choice right there.
So it w as awesome. We sat around awkwardly for a bit, then their people came and played like 4 songs from the new record before the band came. I kept glancing back towards the door to see if they were coming so I’d be ready when they got there and then one time I looked and I saw them and I was just like, WHATTT IS THIS EVEN REAL?! But it was. haha
We got free, awesome shirts for going, they say “I test drove NewAgain!” which is awesome. The songs were amazing, by the way, I am so excited for the record to come out, you have no idea.
We also got free stickers and a free poster, which I used to get all their autographs! Fazzi drew a brontisaurus on my friend’s friend’s poster, it was great. Then a shark on my friend’s. Then when he got to me he seemed to be out of inspiration haha so I got a self-portrait of him, which is actually a smiley face that says “self-portrait” next to it haha but it was cute. He was so nice, we spent most of our time with him, he’s awesome. Then we talked to Adam (!!!) which was great. He is the sweetest guy imn the world. Got my picture with him! I touched him! He touched me! It was perfect. haha I also bumped into him later, getting to touch him again. Perfect. Then we talked to Matt, who drew flames on the car on my poster, he is the best. Got a picture with him too, which was slightly awkward because of the height difference. Then talked to Mark who is HILARIOUS. Got my picture with him as well. Didn’t get to talk to eddie, but he signed my thing so it’s okay. I felt like I already knew them all, iot was so weird. They were like the same as they were in the Louder Now DVD, which is awesome and hilarious. I’m so happy because I was so nervous to meet them since I love them so much; I didn’t want to be disappointed—but they lived up to and exceeded all of my expectations.
It was awesome. Best thing ever. I don’t even think it’s hit my yet just how great and absolutely AMAZING it really was. I am SO EXCITED for the CD and to see them in Hartford and HOB, and hopefully linger and get to meet them again!
