Week Three

So week three was pretty laid back. Most of the group was away for the weekend to Galway and my friend Amanda was in London. So that left just Amy and I for the weekend. Her friends, Elizabeth and Lynn, were in town from London, so we all went our friday night. Of course we hit up Doyle’s, which did not fail us musically. Also there were about a million college guys there, which was great. Unfortunately, none of them were talking to me. I wasn’t too into it that night, I really just wanted to text my friends the whole time, but couldn’t, which sucks. It was a good night for them to visit though, Elizabeth and Lynn had a lot of fun. And Amy met Finn, the sheep farmer and ultimate frisbee star! Nothing ended up happening with that, but he was fun that night at least.

The next day I ventured out on my own. I went to the National Archaeology Museum, which didn’t end up being that exciting. It was pretty small, but interesting, just not much compared to the museums in Boston/New York. After that I walked around and explored the city, looked for cute dresses but didn’t end up finding anything. There were a million street performers though, it was crazy. All the guys here are basically amazing looking and play an awesome Gaelic sport or are excellent musicians. It’s ridiculous. Also all the musicians here always play MGMT “Kids” and Black Eyed Peas “Tonight’s gonna be a good night.” It’s sort of sick, but they’re way better than the BEP at least.

I also was missing America and the food, so I gave in and finally went to Burger King. Everytime I mentioned it my friends cringed, but since I was alone I figured it was allowed. Turns out, it’s completely different here. In the worst way. Number one: It was like 8 euro—SO MUCH. Number two: they had a tiny menu, with only like 2 chicken options, neither of which is what I get at home. So it was pretty disappointed, but at least now I know!

The rest of the weekend I just hung around, enjoyed the empty apartment and the peace and quiet. That week was pretty relaxed too, had a quiz, but that was pretty simple. I don’t think we went out during the week, at least not what I can remember. Actually, we might have gone to Pravada this week, but I’m not sure exactly when that was.

Either way, the quiet weekend and week was good, because the next weekend in Northern Ireland was packed with craziness for sure.
