People always leave

So I’ve been thinking about getting a blog for a while, and I’ve finally decided to do it, so this is exciting. Now that I have it, I don’t really have TOO much to say at the moment…

I’ve been trying to find internships for the summer in public relations, but it isn’t looking too good so far. I don’t really feel like I’ve got that much experience, well actually I don’t have ANY experience, but that’s exactly why I need an internship.

I really want to go into sports PR, so I’m probably going to use this blog to talk about sports so I can use it as a professional tool. I found a really awesome internship with the Pawtucket Red Sox, but I unfortunately missed the deadline. Also, I don’t have a car…so that wouldn’t really work haha. I DID find an internship possibility with the Worcester Tornadoes, which would be great because I live in Worcester, but it isn’t really PR of marketing based. It’s a “sports management” internship, but I have a feeling I wouldn’t really be doing any “managing” and I’d end up like selling t-shirts or something. But I’m going to apply anyways because I spoke to Prof O’Connor who specializes in sports/entertainment PR (she worked for the CELTICS *dream job*), and she thinksĀ I should just apply anywhere and everywhere sports related to get SOME experience, even if it isn’t an ideal job.

So I wrote my first cover letter tuesday for that…very exciting…haha so I’ll send that in soon and hopefully there will be good news!
